Women Make Their Mark
The glass ceiling may not be shattered, but it has been cracked. And the fissure is growing wider. In the last 10 to 15 years, women have moved into management positions in the club and resort business, and all indications are that "boys-only" office suites are—if not already—quickly becoming a relic from the past (Gilliland, 2018)
Approximately 17 percent of the 7,000 members of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) are women, and 62 percent of its over 1,600 student members are female. CMAA does not expect those numbers to decline, either, as more and more undergraduate programs offer club management courses. CMAA reports that females migrate to these classes more rapidly than their male peers. (Gilliland, 2018)
